The beautiful seaside town of Orford is just an hour away from Hobart on Tasmania’s east coast. My grandfather (Roy Brookes) built a shack there in the 1950’s which we have inherited and restored; it’s now the perfect base for many of my photographic forays up and down the coast.
There are a few very nice beaches around Orford but the most interesting spots for me are the sandstone headlands. Shelley Point, The Quarries and Spring Beach are all home to some wonderful sandstone cliffs and rocky outcrops.
